Meet: Tia
After high school in SW Florida, Tia joined the Marine Corps, serving for four and a half years on New River Air Station in North Carolina where she met her husband. Sometime after leaving the Corps, she traveled with her family to back to Florida briefly before settling down in northern Montana.
Several years later, she somehow manages to keep her head running a house with her husband, three kids, dogs, cats, a snake, and a hobby farm while working a full time job as a nurse. Not only does she spend her days taking care of people and animals, she also believes that adding a garden and sourdough is “no problem”.
Inspiration
Somewhere during her downtime, this chaos manager has found time to work on bringing a story to life. Inspiration didn’t really take off until she discovered the band Sleep Token. Their music sparked her creativity as she found herself relating to their songs and the emotions that it evoked; especially the magic of seeing them in person. In her initial, upcoming trilogy, Tia has placed several Sleep Token easter eggs throughout the stories, like the nicknames for the the books: Alkaline, Jaws, and Arcadia.
Tia has also pulled inspiration from the books she has read over the years. While her favorite genre is fantasy, she also dabbles in dark romance, romcoms, and thrillers.
She is obsessed with strong female leads who are aren’t afraid to show the world just how powerful they can be and the dark broody males who would tear the realms apart for them.
Her top authors include Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Yarros with the Throne of Glass series considered her “god tier” series.
